OUR PROCESS & WHAT WE DO

Concrete floor moisture testing is crucial before installing a timber overlay.
Relative Humidity Tests are carried out on all timber installs. Hygrometer tests are carried out if readings are above what they should be to continue.

Concrete grinding or timber sanding
Grinding concrete or sanding subfloor timber involves using a specialized machine with diamond blades to smooth and level the surface. This process is essential for preparing the concrete for finishing or for installing timber and laminate flooring.
Sometimes filling/levelling is also required to bring up to flooring standards.

Moisture barrier
Essential for all bonded timber floors, a painted moisture barrier protects surfaces from water damage. We generally use two coats of Ardex. This innovative product forms a protective layer that prevents rising moisture penetration, ensuring the longevity of your timber floor. Ideal for residential and commercial applications, it helps maintain a dry environment while enhancing durability.

Glueing out and installing timber
We apply a high-quality wood adhesive (often Bona) evenly across the subfloor, then lay the timber planks, ensuring they fit snugly together using clamps and weighing them down with water weights.
Enjoy your new floor!
After the water weights have done their work we will clean over the surface and then it's time to enjoy your floor.
If underfloor heating is installed, instructions will be passed on to ensure proper maintenance measures are followed.
